INFO: Join the The League of Adventurous Detroiters (http://www.facebook.c...) for a winter exploration of historic Elmwood Cemetery, the oldest continuously non-denominational cemetery in Michigan and home to 42 acres of monuments to the dead. The property also includes part of Parents Creek, site of the 1763 native uprising known as the Battle of Bloody Run, where the blood of British soldiers alledgedly stained the waters red.

Amy Elliott Bragg (who blogs about early Detroit history at nighttraintodetroit.com) will be joining us as guide. She'll share stories of gruesome battles and introduce you to a host of notable dead Detroiters, from governors, mayors, historians, soldiers, and sailors to distillers, fur traders, former slaves, one hysterical Victorian actress, and maybe a cursed cholera victim. Also, copies of Amy's book will be available for purchase & signing. It's a great read! ;)

WHEN: Sunday December 17th at 11:00 a.m. Please try to arrive a few minutes early. 

WHERE: Elmwood Historic Cemetery Detroit with Author Amy Elliott Bragg (Hidden History of Detroit, The Night Train: Detroit) We will meet in the front office. There is additional parking outside of the main gate in the Church Lot.
